Cancellation of DGSA exams
Following the cancellation of DGSA exams on 11 June 2020, SQA continues to monitor Government guidelines whilst planning for the next scheduled exams, on 17 September 2020.
SQA is in regular contact with DfT and DVSA, who are aware of the challenges faced ahead of the next DGSA exams and the impact this may have on candidates and the wider industry. While we are all planning for the delivery of the exams in September, we are unable to confirm this at present.
SQA remains committed to hosting the next exam diet but given that some lockdown restrictions are still in place, we must take consideration of the following points, to ensure the safe hosting of exams for candidates, SQA staff and appointees:
ensure all venues will be open and willing to host functions in September. Currently, most venues booked for the September DGSA exams are closed and SQA is not aware of their plans for reopening.
ensure all venues can adhere to social distancing guidelines whilst safely hosting the exams at full capacity.
ensure lockdown restrictions are appropriately lifted across all four nations of the United Kingdom, in advance of the exam date.
In order to evaluate the most up to date Government guidance and await confirmation of venue availability, SQA has moved the opening date for enrolments for 17 September exams to Monday 21 July. This may be subject to change due to Government guidance or discussions with the contracted venues.
All candidates that paid for the cancelled June DGSA exams will be automatically enrolled onto the next exam diet, using the same venue choice, where possible. If any candidate already registered is not able to sit the exams in September, please email email@example.com to arrange a refund or a transfer to an alternative exam date.
Thank you for your continued cooperation during this difficult time.
